Insurance Agent teams up with FADD and Forrest City High School to save lives

- Car crashes are the number one killer of young people in their teens.
That’s the tragic dilemma that was shared with students at Forrest City High School by Families Against Distractive Driving (FADD) President Michele Paden and Insurance Agent Cedric Williams on Monday, April 9.FADD was started by Paden in 2014 after a family member was severely injured in an auto accident due to a distracted driver. She shared the emotional experience with the students and then redirected the conversation to statistics. “Our focus is spreading awareness about the dangers of distracted driving to make students stop and think about what they do behind the wheel. Our ultimate goal is change their life by saving a life,” said Paden.
The presentation ended with students signing a banner pledging not to drive distracted.
Cedric Williams spoke to the teens about some of the first-hand dangers of distracted driving he has seen in his business and the resulting consequences. “Choosing to drive distracted puts lives and licenses on the line. It can have horrific consequences and change the lives of people around you,” Williams told the teens.
FADD and local insurance agents in Arkansas are teaming up around the state to put an end to distracted driving.
